Typical Tuesday at the Thompson’s

How many T’s can you fit in a title? I think I just used 5, total. How’s that for impressive?! If you aren’t impressed by the title, then I’m sure my humor makes up for it, haha. So, here we are, mid-week and I have a little, day in the life of recap to share with you all. I love sharing/reading/writing these post and I thought this week would be a good week to share one wit you all, too.

Here’s a little glimpse into a pretty, much routine Tuesday >

Early Morning

I set my alarm for 5:30, but opted to sleep for another hour. Thankfully, all was still in the house and I was able to sneak away, grab a cup of coffee and read for a solid 30 minutes before the day got started. I love waking up to a still house and a hot cup of coffee + devotions. Nothing is better. Once my coffee was finished and Landon’s lunch was packed, I squeezed in a quick core workout before Benaiah woke up. I don’t have any trouble these days getting Benaiah to go with me for a run, but having him sit still and not climb all over me while I do strength training is another story. If I have a strength training day, in addition to my running, I will try to get it done either early in the morning or in the afternoon (the latter is least preferred). Trying to plank while Benaiah crawls all over me is rather challenging.

Breakfast

Once I completed my workout, I grabbed a sleepy Benaiah out of his crib and we quickly got the day started with a bowl of oatmeal and a banana. I expected him to down his bowl, but he was more interested in the banana. You win some, you lose some, right? During breakfast, I read his devotions to him (we use the Jesus Storybook Bible – love it!) and shortly afterward, got playing.

Workout/Run

Fast forward an hour or so later, we hopped outside to get my run in. Lately, I’ve been sticking with 3 miles (easy paced) until my Achilles feels 100% before increasing by 10% a week. Thankfully, this is the 3rd of 4th pain-free run I’ve had for a while now and I couldn’t be more pumped or grateful! I have a uphill climb to get back to where I was, but I will take it. I am just glad I am moving in the right direction! Three miles ticked my fast and shortly after our run we popped over to our local coffee shop for a latte for me and a bar for Benaiah.

We spent the rest of our morning, fueled my coffee and granola bars exploring our favorite, local museum and checking out construction vehicle books from our library.

Nap Hustle

Once we got back home, I quickly downed a protein shake (which Niah requested a portion of) and he snacked on a grilled cheese + lots of steamed broccoli. I couldn’t believe how much he ate of the broccoli #momwin! Once lunch was finished, we did our usual nap time routine and he was out within 10 minutes. Nap time = crunch time for mom, so while he napped, I got into work mode and cranked out some work projects, this blog post, and sipped on coffee.

After a LIVE video and a blog post later, I got Benaiah up to get ready to run some errands to Aldi.

Evening Routines

Since we made a stop to Aldi mid dinner hour, we made a quick dinner of roasted sweet potatoes (okay not quick, but delicious) and a giant salad. SO GOOD.

Landon came home a little later than normal from work which meant a later than normal bed time for Benaiah. We all snuggled together, read stories and it was basically the sweetest night ever.
