Community Fridays: Inspiring Runner’s and Other Things I am Loving in the Running World
Hey, hey friends, guess what?! We MADE IT to Friday! I think that deserves a party all on it’s own. Fridays are the weekend, in my book and I make sure to celebrate most weeks with an iced latte, a movie with Landon and some more relaxed/unplugged time away from the internet world. But, before I hop off for the next 48 hours, I wanted to share with you another Community Fridays post!
What is Community Fridays?
Basically, community Fridays is a day that I am dedicating to the running community. There is something special about cheering others on and sharing good news with other people. Whether that’s an inspiring runner, a good sale on running clothes (who doesn’t love that?!) or an encouraging story, I want to have Fridays be a day of celebration – celebrating real runner’s, real stories, and encouraging others in their own running journey! Basically, Fridays are going to be my new, favorite, on the blog, day of the week! SO, if you know of an inspiring runner or an encouraging running related story, or you want to share YOUR running story (and want to be featured!) make sure to email me at coachbethanythompson@gmail.com. I would LOVE to feature YOU!
Now, onto Community Fridays!
Inspiring Runner’s
Ever Moore (aka life.throo.mylens ) Okay so Ever Moore is my COUSIN and this lady is amazing. She is training for her first FULL marathon THIS SUNDAY! (I am so pumped for her) and she is doing so, so well. Not only is she an awesome runner, but she is also a mom of FOUR, and she and her husband are launching a nonprofit. I couldn’t be more proud of her and all the progress she is making with her running. She’s told me before that she doesn’t see herself as a ‘real,’ runner, but she TOTALLY IS. Ever, you are going to rock this marathon. So excited to cheer you on!
Shannon (aka shanthomas87) Shannon and I have talked enough over Instagram to know that we have a lot in common. And I love that. Shannon is one of those people who I love to follow on the gram AND she is one tough runner. She was training for a fall marathon and was hitting some awesome mileage, until she recently got injured. What I’ve loved about following her journey is her relentless spirit and her big-picture perspective. This girl has been full-blown committed, cycling, pool running and doing everything she can to keep fitness. Ultimately, she ran the half (and still with a great time)! So inspired by you, Shannon as you continue to chase down your BQ goal and comeback from this injury! You got this, girl!

Perfect Bar – I am not sponsored by Perfect Bar, but I do love their products. Benaiah and I just snagged one of their bars on the way up from our trip to Tennessee and LOVED IT. It tasted so fresh and so clean that it got me hooked with one bite. I will definitely be buying more of these and keeping them on hand for easy, clean on the go snacks.
Designer Protein – If you’ve been reading my blog for anytime now, you know that I LOVE my protein shakes and smoothies and I drink one pretty much every single morning. Designer Protein is my absolute, favorite protein to use in my smoothies/shakes and is my go-to for a quick, clean boost in protein throughout the day. I am in love with their Organic Pro 30 vegan protein powder (30 grams per scoop!) and I also love their whey protein, and their new (and delicious) egg protein! Something I love about Designer Protein is their clean ingredients and delicious taste – I know that I am putting good stuff in not only my body, but my families’, while it tastes amazing too. If you are looking for a good protein powder, check it out here! You can use my discount code BETHANY30 for 30% off your first purchase (it’s a serious steal – use the code at checkout)
Education
Strength Running- a semi, new to me podcast that I’ve been loving lately is Strength Running podcast by Jason Fitzgerald. I recently listened to an episode highlighting eating disorders in runners and really enjoyed the episode. I really appreciate how informational the podcast is and educational. I always love finding a podcast that I can learn from and this is one of them! Check out Strength Running, here.
Running for Real – another podcast that I’ve been loving for the past couple of months is the Running for Real podcast by Tina Muir. Tina Muir is a recent new mom and a pro runner for Saucony. Tina ran for England as a professional and is a fast marathoner. What made me curious about listening to Tina was her story about quitting her professional running career to gain her period back (after losing it for 9 years!) She stopped running, gained her period back, and eventually got pregnant with a sweet baby girl. Following her journey and her return to running postpartum has been super encouraging and love listening to her podcast! You can find it, here.
And that’s a wrap! I hope you enjoyed this version of Community Fridays! I am always so inspired by other amazing runners that I hear of, whether it is through following them on Instagram, a friend, family, or through a podcast! If you know of an inspiring runner (or yourself) who you want to be featured here, email me at coachbethanythompson@gmail.com
Keep running strong, friends!
