Tuesday’s Adventures + Other Ramblings

Well hello and happy Wednesday, I hope you all are doing well and staying as sane as possible. Currently, Benaiah and I are writing this recap post together with a cup of coffee for me and almond milk for him.

It feels good writing some more blog posts recently and I am realizing more and more how much I miss writing/documenting our life – so there’s that. Since I miss documenting our days, I’m sharing a sneak peek into our day yesterday.

Tuesday morning started off not super early (I have been horrible at getting up early these days. I blame Ellie.) Thankfully, she is my human alarm clock (other times, Benaiah is) and I woke up to Benaiah asking for a ‘snacky snack’ (his favorite phrase). While he grabbed an apple, I grabbed Eliana who was almost standing in her crib by this point. Once she was awake, I fed her and Landon got up and the day started. Sine Landon is working from home, our mornings are a little later and I am LOVING it. It is so so nice to have Landon working from home and we feel really blessed that he still has a job. We are praying and thinking of everyone who is affected from COVID.

Four bowls of oatmeal later, our day officially started. Eliana is eating solids now and her favorite food is either sweet potatoes or oatmeal. Sound like someone you know? 😉 (me). Random thought, but remember when I did monthly updates for Benaiah. Poor Eliana, I have hardly shared any updates since she has been born. Figuring out momming two, run coaching, and podcasting + blogging has been interesting to say the least!

Anyways, once the we all got breakfast and Landon made his 2 second commute to work (I am loving that commute) I decided to take the kids outside since it looked amazing out and Eliana wasn’t quite ready for her morning nap. We plopped ourselves down in the middle of the yard, found a patch of dirt to dig in and went to town. Benaiah starting excavating while I ordered groceries (my BFF is Instacart right now. Anyone else?) and Ellie tried to find leaves to eat. She’s at the phase where she will shove anything in her mouth, so I have to be pretty aware of where and what she is around. By the time she’s in bed I am extra grateful for some space and time to zone out. haha.

Once the groceries were ordered, Ellie was ready for nap, so she went down while Landon stayed with her inside. It’s worked out well the past couple of days for me to run while Ellie naps and Landon watches her while he works. Yesterday, I ran 2 miles with Benaiah in the single stroller (throwback!). Once we finished the two miles, we checked on Ellie (she was home with Landon, mind you!) and after putting the cold stuff away from the grocery delivery, finished up the last two miles before she woke up. Perfect.

Once we were back inside, I made a quick lunch of salad, leftovers and a tuna sandwich for Benaiah.

The rest of the afternoon we spent outside playing (in the dirt again) and capped it off with a water fight, seed planting, and a nap for Ellie/quiet time for Benaiah. I am finally getting into a groove of quiet/independent play time for Benaiah and it has been good for all of us!

We finished the evening with an easy dinner of Spanish rice and black bean/sweet potato enchilada filling. SO GOOD. Once the kids were in bed, I spent the rest of the evening doing some LIVE training’s on Facebook with my community and over on my cousin’s community and writing this post.

All in all, such a good day, great weather and much needed time outside.

Hope you all have a great day too!
