COMMUNITY FRIDAYS > What I am LOVING in the Running Community

Before I dive head first into a much needed, unplugged weekend, I want to share my quickly becoming favorite post of the week with you all. COMMUNITY FRIDAYS! What is Community Fridays?

Basically, community Fridays is a day that I am dedicating to the running community. There is something special about cheering others on and sharing good news with other people. Whether that’s an inspiring runner, a good sale on running clothes (who doesn’t love that?!) or an encouraging story, I want to have Fridays be a day of celebration – celebrating real runner’s, real stories, and encouraging others in their own running journey! Basically, Fridays are going to be my new, favorite, on the blog, day of the week! SO, if you know of an inspiring runner or an encouraging running related story, or you want to share YOUR running story (and want to be featured!) make sure to email me at coachbethanythompson@gmail.com. I would LOVE to feature YOU!

Inspiring Runners

Alana (@alanaruns26.2)

I recently started following Alana on Instagram, maybe around 6 months ago and this lady is FAST. She is an 8 time marathoner and a 2:55 marathoner, at that. I love following her consistency, diligence, and courageous marathon training – day in and day out. She and I recently ran the same race (my PR half marathon) although she was just a little ahead of me 😉 She came in first female and it was so fun to see her racing (the course looped around and I randomly noticed someone who I knew from IG! Love the IG running community!) I am so inspired by her drive to continually get faster and eager to see what she does in the future! Keep going, Alana!

Podcasts/Education

The Rambling Runner is one of my favorite podcasts and Janae, at the Hungry Runner Girl is one of my favorite bloggers. This podcast episode, featuring Janae’s sub 3 hour marathon story is totally worth a listen! So inspiring, funny, and encouraging!

OOFOS – My OOFO shoes have literally saved my feet this summer. Benaiah and I do a lot of walking around and on average, according to my Garmin, I put in three to five miles a day of just waking. All the walking means I need to have support for my feet, because as runners are feet are CRUCIAL (duh) to our performance. Happy feet = happy runners. Right now, I am wearing this model and am really interested in getting a pair of closed toed OOFOS for the winter, because I need to stay healthy for my training. If you are looking for the comfiest pair of shoes you will ever wear, try these out!

And that is all for today! I hope you have an awesome, awesome weekend!

Tell me, what is inspiring you lately?!
