Thanksgiving Highlights + My Mom’s First Half Marathon!

I certainly did not mean to disappear on you guys for an entire week, but sometimes life happens. Monday night, I went to bed feeling sick and ended up throwing up most of the night. Yes, that was no fun. So, instead of grinding out a bunch of work projects I had going on today, I spent my Tuesday laying in bed, literally all day long. Not one of my brightest days ever. Thankfully, Landon was able to take off from work and nursed me back to health. I’m feeling better today, but taking the day easy and resting as much as possible.

In other news, our Thanksgiving was a good one! Landon had five days off work (which was amazing!) and we spent our days taking trips to our favorite, local coffee shop, lounging around the house, watching movies, and spending time together as a family.

Instead of recapping each day, I am going to share a few highlights from the week and a short recap of my mom’s half marathon!

Spending Extra Time with My Boys

The biggest highlight of my Thanksgiving weekend was spending extra, quality time with these guys. They literally bring so much joy to my days and I am so thankful for both of them. We tried to squeeze in a lot of family time over the weekend and it was such a blessing to get extra time together as a family!

Seeing Extended Family

Our Thanksgiving day was packed with two separate Thanksgiving parties! We had so much fun seeing Landon’s extended side in the afternoon and my extended side, in the evening. We definitely ended our Thanksgiving day feeling quite content and very loved. The one thing I love about the holidays is how it truly does bring families together! My Aunt, Uncle and cousins who live out of state, were even able to make it in, which made for a super special Thanksgiving!

Cinnamon Bread

Before we were even in a relationship, the first time I went over to Landon’s house, Landon’s dad made this amazing cinnamon bread. This Thanksgiving, he made it again (my second time ever having it) and it brought back so many memories! It tasted just as good as I remembered it.

My Mom’s First Half Marathon!

half marathon

On Saturday, my mom finished her first half marathon and CRUSHED it! She’s been training for the past eight weeks and watching her accomplish her goal AND beat her estimated time by 20 minutes was amazing! I paced her and it was such a joy to share this experience with her! (I will share the full recap tomorrow!)

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! I am going to end here for today, my brain is feeling still a bit bleh since I am still recovering from my sickness. I think a nap is in order now!

I will talk with you all tomorrow!
