A Day in the Life of a Stay at Home Mom

Good morning and happy Tuesday to all of you guys. I’m off, on the road, headed to my families to spend the day with them and attend a fitness class that my sister and mom teach! I’m pretty excited since I haven’t been to one yet.

Today, I thought it would be fun to share a peek into a day in the life of me – a stay at home mom. This day was last Thursday and quite the full day, so hang on tight!  Let’s start at the beginning, shall we.

Morning

Thursday morning started off a little unconventionally, since Landon and I spent the night at my parents Wednesday evening. We had gone over there for a get together and decided to sleep over since the roads were covered in ice. Since we stayed the night, that meant we needed to leave bright and early (or not so bright) in order to make sure Landon got home for work.

We left my parents around six thirty and made it back home by eight. Landon grabbed a cup of coffee quickly, while I unpacked our bags and wrote up a blog post. Benaiah chilled in his car seat while I finished the post and shortly after, I got him out, fed him and had my devotions.

I enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee while reading and once Benaiah was done eating I changed his diaper and we played for a little.

After playing with Benaiah for a while, I worked up a sweat with a Pilates video, while Benaiah watched. I love working out while Benaiah watches me, because even though I know he won’t remember every workout he was an audience for, he sees the example that Landon and I are setting for him, even at a young age.

Benaiah held onto my foot, as I stretched and I gulped my water down. Can you say adorable?

Breakfast

Eventually, it was time for breakfast and I made a smoothie (typical, I know) to enjoy while unloading the dishwasher and finishing my cup of coffee.  My smoothie had almond milk, 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt, banana, cocoa powder, and stevia in it.

Once I finished eating, I quickly jumped in the shower, while Benaiah entertained himself. I don’t know if this happens when one becomes a mom, but my luxurious fifteen minute showers hardly ever happen anymore. I’m lucky if I get a seven minute shower.

After quickly getting ready, I fed Benaiah again, checked emails, and rocked the little man to sleep. We snuggled for while as I meal planned and shortly after, Landon’s sisters, Nikki and Kayli came over for a visit!

We hung out for a little bit before Landon came home for lunch! I love how Benaiah love his aunts and grandma!

We were low on groceries, so I scrounged up what I could find which ended up being scrambled eggs and apples.

Simple and delicious. We quickly ate our lunch while catching up. Mom, Nikki, and Kayli stayed the rest of the afternoon and once Landon came home from work, Landon and I drove to pick up my car from the shop! It’s hopefully working by now.

There is nothing like having  car that doesn’t work.

The rest of the night was not exactly what I had planned. Since Landon and I knew we would be gone on Friday, we planned to have our date night Thursday. However, a super sad and fussy Benaiah quickly turned out plans around. The poor little man was tired from long day, but I think most of the crying came from teething.

We did manage to eat a couple bowls of chili that I prepared while mom and the girls were over, which we enjoyed. Since the lighting was terrible, I didn’t snag a picture- so I’ll leave that up for your imagination 😉

After dinner, Landon and I walked circles back and forth to get Benaiah to sleep, (sounds fun right?) and eventually called it a night!

And there you have it, a peek into an average dat in the life of Bethany!

I hope you all have a fantastic day and I’ll catch you tomorrow!
