WIAW- Making it Work

It’s Wednesday and we all know what that means! It’s WIAW, also known as, What I Ate Wednesday. WIAW is not about comparison or judgement, but a celebration about what we all have in common. We eat!

Without further ado, let me introduce my WIAW. Food was low in the Houston household, but I worked with what we had.

Toast

To kick off my morning, I snacked on a piece of Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Bread with peanut butter and honey. On the side one two cups of coffee and my devotions.

After devotions, I grabbed my kicks and headed to the gym. Killed in on the elliptical- 4 miles with intense hills and 1 mile on the treadmill.  (I think my shin splints are finally healing!!)

NUUN

After using the machines and stretching, I pulled on my awesome compression socks (jealous right?) and cooled down with a glass of NUUN- best thing ever.  Once I downed what-seemed like a gallon of water, followed by NUUN, I headed home to make my favorite post-workout breakfast.

Breakfast

Smoothie recipe found here, with a side of Coconut Flax Cereal. The bomb.

Lunch

After lunch, I snacked on some un-pictured raisins and chocolate. Because you just got to have chocolate in your life.

Dinner was an easy fix and delicious.  I made homemade bread for BLTs and we enjoyed every single bite. There is something about homemade bread topped with garden fresh tomatoes that rocks my taste buds.

BLTS

After eating, my sister Abby and I walked to my church for worship team practice and my  grandma’s for a Spanish lesson, snacked on some grapes and called it a night.

All in all, a good day of eats, even though there was not much food in the house. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated and even when there isn’t much food in the house, you can still make it work! Eating healthy shouldn’t be stressful. Find your basics and make them work!

Catch you all later!
