We Survived Our First Trip Out and Squash is Back in Season (WIAW 10/4)

Good morning and happy Wednesday my friends! This Wednesday is already off to a great start, because, last night this mama got two 3 hour stretches of sleep. I feel like a whole new woman. Thank you Jesus!

If you are new around here, on Wednesdays, we talk about food and I share my daily eats with you all!

Disclaimer- I don’t get a photo of every single bite…

I love WIAW posts, because we all at least have one thing in common, which is food! WIAW shouldn’t and isn’t about comparison or documenting “perfect clean eating,” it’s about enjoying the food we do eat and sharing meal ideas with readers and fellow bloggers.

Now that that is out in the open, let’s get onto the food stuff. Rewind to yestersay >>>

Tuesday morning started off a hot cup of coffee and a big protein smoothie. Lately, I’ve been loving Desgner Protein (one scoop is packed with 25 grams of protein!) and my smoothies taste 110% better.

After eating breakfast, I worked on my blog and other blog related activities, cleaned the house, and fed Benaiah.

He fell fast asleep after his feeding, which enabled me to jump in the shower, score!

The rest of the morning flew by  and before I knew it, Landon came home for lunch! We were pretty low on groceries, so my lunch ended up being a kale salad +an  apple + a slice of cheese. Not stellar, but it did the trick.

Since we were so low on groceries, I decided to put my game face on and go to the grocery store. This was my first trip out with Benaiah (to a store/by myself) and I’m happy to report that we survived! Grocery shopping is quite a bit harder, but he did great. I’m pretty sure he was fascinated with all the lights and sounds.

Afternoon treat? Coffee + raw cacao power + stevia. Oh and a spoonful of peanut butter.

A little while before Landon came home, I whipped up a quick dinner of spaghetti squash (is anyone else excited that squash is back in season?), sauce and peas. This recipe is delicious and easy, so I’ll be sure to share it with you all soon!

After dinner, we had a friend come over, which meant dessert was in order. On the menu? My healthy peanut butter chocolate pie, which turned out great! And if I’m being honest, I can’t wait for another piece tonight 😉

And with that, I’m signing off for today! Hope your Wednesday is fabulous.

Questions of the Day

  1. What was the best thing you ate yesterday?
  2. Are you a squash lover?
  3. If you do you like squash, what is your favorite kind?
