Quick and Easy, Semi-Homemade Pizza

I don’t think I know a person who doesn’t appreciate a good pizza. You really can’t go wrong with pizza: melted cheese, savory sauce, and thick crust (oh the delicious carbs!) and then whatever toppings your heart desires.

The only thing I don’t like about pizza is the price to order it. I know, it’s not that expensive, but hey, every dollar counts, right?

My mom has been making homemade pizza for years. In fact, when we were all younger, mom would made homemade pizza every Sunday for lunch after church.

Isn’t she gorgeous?

Anyways, thanks to her inspiration, I’ve been making homemade pizza for a quite a while. Some days, I make everything from scratch: crust, sauce, etc. (You can find me favorite recipe here.)

However, some days, like yesterday, when I’m pressed for time, I buy my favorite pizza dough and favorite jarred pizza sauce and it still turns out tasty!

So, if you are like me and pressed for time, or don’t feel like making everything from scratch, here is my favorite, semi-homemade pizza recipe.

Quick and Easy, Semi- Homemade Pizza:

  • 1 package whole wheat pizza crust (I purchase mine from Trader Joes)
  • 1 jar pizza sauce (Also from Trader  Joes)
  • 1 bag of mozerella cheese
  • Your favorite toppings (mine are pineapple and green pepper, Landon’s are beef and any veggies)
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic (secret ingredient)

Method

Prep all your toppings first. Cut up pineapple (highly recommended), veggies, brown the meat, and slice garlic into thin slices.

Once pizza toppings are all prepped, roll out pizza dough to fit pan.

Once crust is rolled out and on pan, spread a generous amount of sauce and add toppings

Also, don’t forget to sprinkle  thinly sliced garlic on pizza before adding the cheese. This gives the pizza deep flavor, trust me!

Top with cheese and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Cheese should be melted, but not quite golden yet. Cook, checking every 2 minutes until cheese is golden brown.

Enjoy with a light salad!
