My Top Five Favorite At Home Workouts

DSC_3015

I’m not going to lie, working out with a little one around takes a lot more effort than it did before Benaiah was born! I try to time my workouts around his nap schedule, but sometimes (okay, most of the time) I end up working out while Benaiah watches from his high chair. Since I am not working out in a gym, I’ve been taking full advantage of YouTube video workouts and some of my favorite blogger circuit workouts that they’ve created.

If you are a busy stay at home mom, full time student, full time employee, or maybe you simply don’t have time to commit to driving to the nearest gym, here is a collection of my top five favorite at home workouts!

Cassie Ho’s Total Body Pilates Bootcamp

I’ve shared this video before, but I really like the sculpt I’ve seen from this workout. Finished in only fifteen minutes, it is a video that you can easily fit into any time of the day. Pilates is a great exercise method because it really targets specific muscle groups and isolates the muscle so you can really tone quickly and efficiently! Got to love that, right?

Julie’s workout are deceiving. Each one I’ve tried out, I approach it with a ‘this should be easy,’ attitude and leave super humbled. This leg workout, for example, left me sore for at least three days. Make sure to click on the picture or here for the full descripton. Again, another thing I love about Julie’s workouts is the time efficiency. Julie creates workouts that literally take anywhere from ten to twenty minutes long, but leave me dripping in sweat. I love her circuit and plyometric workouts and literally can’t get enough. If someone else does this workout, let me know how you feel afterward. I had trouble walking afterwards. 😉

Continuing with my pbfingers workout obsession, this is another one I love. It’s a great fifteen or so minute intense workout (don’t let it fool you!) and leaves me sore for days. If you are feeling especially bold, try two rounds!

Let’s take the intensity down, shall we? How about this Pilates video. This Pilates video focuses on abs and legs. It’s a nice video to do before bed or in addition to the first Pilates video I shared. I also love the stretching she incorporates afterwards.

Apparently, I really like Pbfingers workouts, because they take up the majority of this post. BUT that’s okay because I couldn’t not share this one with you all. I know I’ve shared it before, but I needed to make sure this made it in my roundup. This workout doesn’t only look hard, it is hard. This workout is a total body workout that requires no weights, just a lot of determination! Once you finish the 70 tuck jumps and 100 squat jumps, you will feel like you can conquer the world, trust me.

I hope you guys love these workouts as much as I do! Running is my favorite way to exercise, but cross training is so, so important. Over the years, I’ve learned that when I balance my workouts with a mixture of running and cross training, I’m much stronger and less injury prone. Win, win, right?

Make sure to let me know if  you try any of these and how it goes for you all!
