My Mama’s Corn Flake Treats

With only three simple ingredients and a little effort, these butterscotch corn flake treats come together in a flash! Made with peanut butter, butterscotch and of course, corn flakes, these no-bake cookies are sure to please the entire family.

We all have them. Those childhood favorite desserts that bring back a million memories each time they are made and enjoyed. These butterscotch corn flake treats are my childhood favorite. Normally, mom would make them throughout the fall and winter months and we would always make them on Halloween night to go with our movie marathons.

I love these treats for a couple different reasons. First, they are easy. And by easy I mean super easy. Like throw everything in a pan, melt, and stir all together easy. I love the ability to whip up a yummy treat in just a few minutes. It’s a perfect dessert to make if you have unexpected company coming over or need a last minute dessert to go with dinner. Can you say convenience?

Secondly, I love that these don’t have chocolate in the recipe. Don’t get me wrong, I love chocolatey desserts, but for those people who aren’t chocolate lovers or if you just want to change things up, these are perfect and still delicious!

Lastly, these treats are not completely healthy, but I wouldn’t call them completely unhealthy either. So, you can feel a little better about splurging on two of them. 😉

Ingredients

  • 1 bag butterscotch morsels*
  • 1 c. Creamy peanut butter
  • 6-10 cups Cornflakes*

Method

Over medium-low heat, melt butterscotch morsels and peanut butter together, make sure not to burn the mixture!

Once melted, add corn flakes in the melted mixture. Stir until corn flakes are completely coated.

Scoop mounds of the cornflake mixture onto cookie sheet and place in fridge until the cookies are set. (About 30 min. to an hour)

Enjoy (and try not to eat the entire batch!) 😉

I think corn flake treats are a great way to celebrate Friday! Don’t you think? I hope your Friday is full of fun activities and relaxation!

Questions of the Day

  1. What is your favorite childhood dessert?
  2. Do you have any Halloween traditions? (- My family would always make our favorite meals and stay up late with movie marathons)
  3. What are your Friday plans?!?
