My Final Shower and an Active and Restful Sunday (Super Long Weekend Recap 8/15)

And just like that, we are back to the daily grind. As much as I do love Mondays, I didn’t want this weekend to end. After a busy week and busy weekends leading up to this past Saturday and Sunday, I ended Sunday night feeling refreshed, but not quite ready for the weekend to end.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end, right?

Let’s rewind to Saturday morning.

Saturday morning started off a large cup of coffee, a smoothie, and lots of hugs. My plan was to get up early and run before my shower, but in the end, my bed won. The extra sleep felt amazing.

I had a hard time saying goodbye to this handsome guy. The past four Saturday’s we’ve been apart and I was not thrilled about being away from him again.

However, after my prenancy hormones settled down, the rest of the day was fantastic! I hit up my chiropractor before heading to my last baby shower. Anyone else love going to the chiropractor?!

Landon and I have been so blessed by all these showers. It is so fun to be surrounded by friends and family and have an amazing support system during this special time in our lives.

(Shout out to Miss Jen and my mom for taking pictures!)

We all enjoyed delicious fruit, iced tea and lemonade, played a few games, listened to a devotional by Mrs. Christie, and ate some delicious cake.

Isn’t the cake adorable? Random question: are you a buttercream frosting person or whipped frosting person? I usually don’t like frosting if it is the traditional buttercream, but the whipped frosting- now, that is a different story.

Aren’t my sisters gorgeous? Side note: my youngest sister is starting her freshmen year soon! How in the world!?

Another fun fact? I started babysitting these two gorgeous ladies when they were 5 years old…and now they are freshmen. Oh my, how time does fly.

This is my, “hard core game, face.” The lovely hostess, Mrs. Freise was looking a little more graceful than I. 😉

My good friend, Britta (on the far left) is celebrating her two year anniversary tomorrow!! Did you guys know that Landon and I first saw each other at her wedding, two years ago. (We both were immediatley intrigued with each other, but didn’t meet until a couple months later…)

So, we really have Josh and Britta to thank. We are glad you guys got married- for a variety of reasons. 😉

My gorgeous mama and our good friend Mrs. Dawn.

After a lovely afternoon, I headed back home and spent the rest of the evening showing Landon the gifts and cards. Landon even made me dinner- which was awesome.

Sunday morning, Landon and I woke up early and went for a two mile run before church.

Excuse my tired/sweaty/bags-under-the-eyes look. The weather was perfect (68 degrees!) and running with Landon makes my heart happy.

After running, we got ready, I made Landon eggs and myself a smoothie.

Shortly after making my smoothie, I decided it would be a good idea to spill it all over the counter. Sad day. I managed to save half, but it was still a bummer…

Landon and I spent the rest of the morning and afternoon at church and running errands together. Why are errands so much fun when we are together?

Once we got home, I made dinner, and we took a quick nap while it was cooking.

Tacos for the win!

After dinner, we decided to go for a long walk and get some gelato. (Mine: pink cup) I had white chocolate coconut almond and white chocolate berry. Hello delciousness.

Check out that sunset!

Even though the sunset was gorgeous, the lighting wasn’t. We still tried to get a cute picture though 😉

We ended up walking a mile and a half before the sun set. Once it was dark, we headed back home. After our devotions together, we ended up getting to bed early which was perfect.

This weekend was a great blend of time with friends and spending time together. And again, here we are back to Monday! Let’s make this week beautiful, okay?

Question of the Day

  1. What did your weekend look like?
  2. Frosting- take it or leave it? Favorite kind?
  3. Are you an early morning runner? What is your favorite time of the day to run?
