Marathon Training Week 13 Recap + Let’s Catch Up

This is my happy Friday face. NOT MY PHONE WAS STOLEN FACE…

So, I left my phone at a hotel the other day…win, win! Landon and I were at a conference, Tuesday night, and I left the diaper bag in the room, since I had make a quick exit for the hallway thanks to a fussy Benaiah. Since Tuesday night, my beloved diaper bag and my phone have not made a return, which most likely means it was stolen. I’m not too happy about it, mostly because of all the pictures I have of our family on my phone. Icloud, don’t fail me now.

In other news, Landon and I finished our EIGHTEEN MILE RUN! Let the heavens rejoice! We are now off for a quick weekend trip to see my brother, sister-in-law and niece. I don’t really think running eighteen miles and then sitting for 15 hours is a great idea, but that is just how it had to work out this week. We will see how this goes. This will also be the longest car ride with Benaiah yet, I am praying he sleeps a good bit of the trip, because otherwise, I have a feeling it is going to be a looonnng ride.

This weeks running has been a little jumbled, because of returning back from vacation and then trying to squeeze it all in before our mini weekend get away, but you do what you have to do, right?

Sunday

Saturday morning, I had a long run of 12 miles, so I took Sunday off completely and focused on stretching and walking. We were also on vacation that day, which meant plenty of relaxing and lounging around.

Monday

I decided to play it safe on Monday and took an extra rest day from running. Instead of doing nothing, I worked core, glutes, and arms which felt really, really good. Strong core and glutes = easier running and I am all about that life.

Tuesday

Tuesday morning, Benaiah and I went out for an easy four mile run, complete with ALL NEGATIVE SPLITS! I was so excited to hit my paces, right on target and really felt awesome through the entire run. This was probably the first run in a while (since my ankle injury) that felt 100% comfortable and I couldn’t have been happier. I finished with an average pace of 8:45/mi with splits of:

NINE MILES

Wednesday

Benaiah and I braved the heat and geared up for a long-ish run of nine miles! In truth, I really, really wanted to wake up early and not go with the stroller, but didn’t set an alarm and slept in too late. I toyed around with the idea of going on the treadmill while he was napping, but instead opted for going on the trails with the stroller for all 9 miles.

Thursday

I took Thursday off from running, focused on stretching, recovery, and injury prevention. Sometimes, rest days just feel so right and Thursday was one of those days.

Friday

18 MILES!

Saturday

Off

Sunday

5 recovery miles on the treadmill.

TOTAL MILEAGE: 36 miles

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! We are on the road (again), but will be back Monday! Catch you all later.
