Leg Day + a Friend Date

Hey friends and welcome back to the blog! Today, I’m sharing a glimpse of a random Tuesday that’s filled with good food, time with friends and an awesome workout!

Let’s start at the beginning, shall we?

Yesterday morning, I woke up to Landon kissing me goodbye, saying he was heading to work early. I deleriously kissed him back and quickly fell asleep again!

An hour later, I woke up to Benaiah’s morning coos and officially began my morning with coffee and devotions.

Having devotions with a six month old is rather distracting, but I did my best to finish my three chapters and practice my memorization. Once I put my Bible away and filled up my water bottle, I put on some music, placed Benaiah in his bouncer and finished my favorite leg workout. As usual, it left me super sore with endorphins flowing!

After my workout was done, I could tell Niah was quickly getting tired, so instead of keeping him awake, I rocked him to sleep. I took advantage of the time Niah was sleeping to get showered, make breakfast and work on some behind the scenes blog work.

Nap time hour passed quickly by and before I knew it, Benaiah was awake and ready to play!

We played together for a while before I vacuumed, mopped, and picked up the house. I guess you could say I’m in the spring cleaning mode! Spring, you can come anytime you want.

After the house was clean and Niah was fed, I put him down for his second nap which ended up lasting for about two minutes. Instead of grabbing him out of the crib, I let him play in his crib while I prepared lunch for Landon and I.

On the menu? Salad with quinoa, feta cheese, cucumbers, chick peas, tomatoes, and croutons + oranges. Landon got home around one and Niah was so excited to see dad. We enjoyed lunch and ended it with our afternoon cups of coffee before Landon left to go back to work.

Shortly after Landon left, I could tell Benaiah was tired from his nap that ended up not being a nap, so I sang him to sleep and he ended up sleeping for a solid forty five minutes. While Niah took his afternoon nap, I put in some more time into the blog and checked on dinner which was simmering in the crock pot.

Savannah, my long time friend from Tennessee and my sister Abby stopped over around four o’clock as they headed to a local coffee shop. I was excited to see them and I spent the time they were sipping coffee preparing the house for Savannah’s two day stay!

Friend time = the best time. It’s been FOREVER since Savannah and I saw one another (thanks, long distance) and I was thrilled to have her stay over our home for a couple days. I doubt we will get in all the conversation that we want to ( <<< girl problems!) but we are going to try!

Since Savannah is such a great friend, she brought me back a peach iced tea (my favorite) from the coffee shop and we got busy catching up and talking while I finished preparing dinner.

I decided to make an easy dinner of chili basil barbecue chicken paired with a light salad and roasted fingerling potatoes. Once Landon made it home, we had no trouble polishing off all the potatoes and most of the chicken. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

We ended the evening with cups of coffee, conversation and a short game of scrabble.
