Honey Wheat Bread

bread

Nothing says fall like warm homemade bread baking in the oven.  When the cooler temperatures arrive, I turn the oven on and get to baking.  Homemade bread is easy to make and just as easy (if not more) to eat.  I prefer Whole Wheat Bread (I think it has a better texture, healthier, and taste better) but you can also make it White.

Here is my favorite recipe.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

  •  10 oz. Water
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Local honey
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Black-strap un-Sulfured Molasses
  • 3 1/2 c. Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2-3 Heaping Tsp. Yeast

Place all ingredients (in the order above) in bread machine.

Place on the dough setting. Once done, remove from pan and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size. (This takes about 30 minutes). Once risen, place into greased bread pan. Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes.  Remove from oven when golden brown and top sounds hollow when you tap it with your finger. Also you can use a cake tester to check for “doneness” in the center.

Once removed from pan, enjoy with coconut butter, honey, peanut or almond butter, jam or just plain!

This bread is great for sandwiches, french toast, BLTs, or any else you want to use it for. The choice is yours!
