New Adventures, Half Marathons and Apples: Friday Favorites

Oh yes, we have made it to Friday. Let’s take a moment to CELEBRATE! This weekend is all about fall activities! The past two weekends our fall festivities have been rained out and I am anxious to get out there and have fun at a pumpkin patch or two. I know that sounds totally basic, but there is something about getting out in the fresh, crisp fall air and exploring pumpkin patches, drinking hot apple cider, and picking apples that just refreshes the soul. And after a busy week, that is just what my body and mind are craving. Slow weekends, yes please.

Before I sign off for the the next couple of days, I will share a couple of highlights from the week. Starting off with this adorable face.

Benaiah’s New Love for Apples

Only recently has Benaiah discovered an intense love for apples, but now that he enjoys them, that is all he wants. That and the occasional banana, peanut butter toast and smoothies. It amazes me at just how much personality our little man is showing, each and every day. Lately, his newest thing is wanting to carry around car keys everywhere he goes and I die just about every time I see him laughing. He’s continually reminding me to slow down and simply enjoy the simple things in life, like apples.

Peanut Butter Cookies

I don’t know about you guys but when the cold weather hits, BAM, I want all things comfort. Comfy clothes, comfy shoes, and comfort foods galore. Thankfully, with a little creativity and some belief, healthy alternatives to most of those comfort foods can be achieved! Sunday night, I felt the urge to get in the kitchen and bake some cookies. What happened after rummaging around the cupboard and finding a bag of almond flour, turned out to be peanut butter, almond flour protein cookies. That’s a mouthful isn’t it? Aside from the batter being a little crumbly, they tasted delicious and I will definitley be making again! Shout out to Taralynn for the recipe inspo!

Run Coaching

These past four or so months, I’ve been working, behind the scenes, to bring all of you guys some amazing run coaching packages and I am FINALLY launching them! It’s been a lot of work,  but when you love something, it doesn’t seem quite like work does it? (Okay, don’t ask me this question late at night or when I am trouble shooting tech stuff, haha!) I am super pumped to have three, brand new, revamped packages, all ready to go for you. These packages are going to take my girls’ running up to the next level and I am PUMPED! You can find all the info, here!

My Mom’s First Half Marathon

Yes, you read that right. My mom is going to run a half marathon with me, on Thanksgiving weekend and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her. Running a half marathon has been a dream of hers for a long time now and for her to finally be here is truly a joy to witness. I’ve been so honored to coach her and I can’t wait to see how this race will go! So proud of you mom!

I hope you all have an awesome Friday and weekend! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
