Current Reads, New Shoes and Trips to the Park – Friday Favorites: 9/21

Hey, hey friends and happy FRIDAY! I am super excited for this weekend. It’s going to be jam packed with a trip to see my sister (IN CONCERT!) on Saturday and then a wedding on Sunday! Since our marathon festivities took place over the weekend last weekend, I am more than ready for a little bit more of a restful couple of days.

I am still going through various marathon emotions, feeling sad it is already over, but more than that; I am anxious to get started preparing for my next one! (More on that in a little bit).

Since I don’t have my weekly, marathon training to update you all on today, I thought I would share some Friday favorites of things that have kept life interesting and fun this week. (Thanks for the inspiration, Julie!)

“Benaiah’s” Coffee

Before you guys start hating on me, I didn’t purposely give Benaiah coffee. A couple days ago, while I was cooking, I noticed Niah playing with some K Cups. I didn’t really think too much of it, since they made a fun noise and were the perfect size for his little hands. It wasn’t until I noticed him chewing on them, that I took a closer look. I then realized I had about 15 K Cups that had little bite marks on each edge. I couldn’t help but laugh at our little coffee/tea loving boy.

Current Reads

I’ve been reading non-stop for the last couple months and it feels so good to be back into reading, again. I’ve read a bunch of Francine Rivers stuff and now I’m reading some of Karen Kingsbury’s novels. Some of my recent favorites were One Tuesday Morning & Beyond Tuesday Morning by Karen Kingsbury A Bridge to Haven by Francine Rivers The Last Sin Eater by Francine Rivers, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, and A Mother’s Hope and A Daughter’s Dream by Francine Rivers. All so beautifully written and emotionally moving. I also am reading A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George as part of a Bible study with my friend Kimberly. So far, the book has been fantastic!

Manaco Ankle Booties

Um yes. I graciously received these shoes from a new, favorite online store from to me Cleo Madison and I am IN LOVE. I am always on the hunt for classy shoes that go with just about anything and these shoes fit the bill. I will be giving a full review, on the blog, soon, but had to give them a shout out right away! Aren’t they adorable?

Trips to the Park & Benaiah’s Curiosity

This fall’s weather has been unusually hot, which means Niah and I are taking full advantage of our local park. Niah loves swinging on the swing and sliding down the slide with mom. More than that though, is his deep curiosity. I adore watching him crane his head around to see what recent noise or animal has captured his attention! Never lose your sense of wonder, sweet boy.

After being without a phone for quite a while, (phone was stolen and wanted to wait a few weeks, (just in case it turned up) before we purchased one…) it feels SO GOOD to have a phone back! And although I enjoyed the time away from media and let’s be honest, scrolling (a habit I am constantly trying to minimize) it is nice to be a little more connected than I have been for the last couple of weeks.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend of all your favorite things and I will be back Monday!
