Baby Food Drama + Breakfast for Dinner (TOL #67)

Hey there and happy Thursday everyone! I hope you are coming to the blog this morning healthy and looking forward to a great weekend ahead of you.

Thinking-Out-Loud

In keeping with our weekly tradition, I’m sharing another TOL post (detail – here). Thank you Amanda for hosting this weekly roundup!

Soo, we’ve officially started to introduce Benaiah to solids and so far, we haven’t really found anything he loves. A few days ago, we gave him avocado for dinner and I wish I could have captured his expressions on camera. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him look so distraught and disgusted! Avocado = a big no for now. So far, we’ve introduced him to carrots (pictured above), spinach, peas, and avocado, but he hasn’t really enjoyed any of them. If anyone else has a great idea for next foods to introduce, I’m all ears!

In a recent time photo dump, I found this random dinner that never made it on the blog! Cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread with a smear of grass fed butter, steamed carrots, and two sunny side up eggs. I don’t know about you, but breakfast for dinner is the best.

Speaking of breakfast for dinner, a few weeks ago, Landon and I made my two ingredient pancakes (we also added a scoop of protein powder to the mix) and they were so good.

Apparently, birds also taste delicious.

These two are so much fun. Having a one year old and a six month old together in the same room means lots of fun for mom and dad! Also, trying to get two little boys to take a picture together and looking at the camera at the same time is rather challenging!

I think I’ve basically lived in my ankle boots all winter long and as much as I’m looking forward to summer time, I will miss my winter footwear.

On a different footwear note, I laced up my Mizunks and ran in the craziest wind yesterday. At one point it even blew me off to the side of the trail. It was at that moment I questioned my sanity. Why do we runners run in extreme weather? It’s confirmed again- runners are weird. But I love it.
And with that, I hope you guys have a great rest of your Thursday! (One more day till Friday!!!) I’ll catch you all tomorrow.

Questions of the Day

  1. What are your current favorite shoes?
  2. Do you like breakfast for dinner? What do you normally eat with brinner?
  3. Any recommendations for what to serve little ones?
