A Typical Tuesday

DSC_4363Hey friends! I am popping in here today with a peek into what a typical Tuesday around here looks like, on our very average day yesterday.

And by average, I mean, amazing. Because every day should be amazing right? Right.

Morning Run

Benaiah woke up me at 5:45, but I didn’t care at all, since he AGAIN, slept through the night! I can’t tell you how happy this makes both Landon and I. I happily scooped Benaiah out of his crib and nursed him while I talked to him softly. I quickly realized he was still tired and after nursing him, I put him back in his crib and slipped out the bedroom.

As I looked out the window and noticed the rain, I decided to skip our stroller run I had planned and sneak out of the house for a solo run, since I didn’t want to take Benaiah out in the cold conditions.

I managed to fit in three miles at an 8:03 average, before coming back home to my boys, sopping wet.

Shorts may not have been the best idea, but I couldn’t help wearing them, since new running clothes make me want to run faster 😉

Once I got home, Benaiah was STILL asleep, so I guzzled down some water and had my devotions before I heard him stir. I spent the rest of the hour feeding Niah, getting Landon ready for work, and stretching before it was my turn for breakfast!

Or should I say our turn. Benaiah enjoyed his Benaiah (please don’t mind the Greek yogurt covered high chair. Cleaning that off is on my to-do list.) and I enjoyed my smoothie.

Isn’t pretty?

I guzzled down my chocolate protein smoothie before spending the following few hours playing with Benaiah. After play time, I put Benaiah down for a nap, while I caught up on some work. Benaiah’s nap times = my power hours and I try to get done with as much that is humanly possible before he wakes up. And I also snacked on some almonds. Make that, many almonds.

Once nap time was over, we headed to our friends house and chatted for a while and let the babies play. Benaiah wasn’t super thrilled about the hat, but I thought it was adorable.

After our visit, we left to pick up a few groceries and headed home to make lunch.

Lunch + Visit with Landon

Landon came home for lunch (YAY!) which meant that I spent a majority of the time talking his ear off and the rest shoving my face with food. On the menu?

SALAD (Mixed greens + Hard boiled eggs + Feta cheese + sunflower seeds + shredded carrot) and Greek Yogurt bowl.

My Greek yogurt bowl had cinnamon and honey mixed in and was the perfect way to end lunch on a sweet note. After Landon left to go back to work, Benaiah and I got busy in the kitchen and whipped up some of our favorite Peanut Butter Cups!

He was quite fascinated with watching me make them and I enjoyed describing each of the steps.

Once I licked the spoons clean, we went for a walk just before Landon got off work so we could walk him home with us. We are so blessed having Landon work so close and I look forward to our evening strolls together, each night!

Dinner

We spent our evening eating an easy dinner of grilled chicken + roasted broccoli (my favorite!) and multiple peanut butter cups for dessert.

This is a picture of my plate mid-way through dinner, so please excuse the mess on the plate. 😉

I may or may not have eaten three peanut butter cups before Landon and I powered through some evening work while Benaiah slept. We ended the evening right around 10:30 and by that time, I was more than ready for bed.

And just like that, another day is done. And although our Tuesday was pretty ‘normal,’ it is these kinds of days that make our lives, right? So, why shouldn’t they be celebrated too? I think they should. So, here’s to celebrating our average, working, day in – day out fun lives.

I hope you all have a fantastic, day- whether it is average or spectacular!

Questions of the Day

  1. Name three things you did yesterday?
  2. Do you have a favorite, easy week night meal?
  3. How do you like to spend your evenings?
