10 Miles + Chipotle Date (Weekend Highlights)

Oh hey there friends and happy Tuesday! I am coming at you this morning with a weekend recap and just a few photos to share. Man, I’ve been winning the worst blogger of the year award over here with epic fails on the photo department. I need to keep my camera more close by to me, this week. Although I don’t have a ton of photos to share, I do have some and I will share what I have.

I hope you all are popping by the blog today feeling rested and ready to tackle this week! I don’t have as many plans as last week, which is a good thing! I am planning on getting a good chunk of work projects done early this week, so by the time Friday comes around, I can slide into the weekend and really unplug (aside from my camera of course.) 😉

Saturday

So, Saturday morning started off on an unexpected note. Landon and I got a call from Landon’s dad asking if he could help move a treadmill from their old home to their new place. Since we didn’t have anything going on, Landon decided to help his dad and took Benaiah with him for a little father/son/grandson time. Since both of my boys were away, I decided to nail my long run and ran 10 miles (easy paced 8:45/average) on the treadmill.

I wish I could say this 10 mile treadmill run felt like a breeze, but it was one of those runs where I felt like I could be done around mile 1. Oh well! Thankfully, I had the crown to distract me and I got done in a little over an hour. Once I was done running, I made this smoothie,  cleaned up the house, showered, and my boys came home!

We quickly chatted about our days and then headed to Chioptle for my father in law’s birthday celebration. And I was beyond pumped to eat at Chipotle (favorite place, ever!) Once we were done eating, we all headed back to our place for the most delicious vegan chocolate cake with coconut cream frosting. HELLO.

It was so nice to be able to chat all together as a family (although we missed you Kayli!) and wish dad a happy birthday. We all ended up leaving at the same time, going separate ways. Landon and I headed to our friends’ house for an evening of games and fellowship. Have you guys ever played the game One Night? We all ended up playing that for a while, over ice cream and strudel. It was so fun to connect with friends and other young families! Thanks for having us over Eric and Laura!

Sunday

Sunday morning came far too quickly and all I wanted to do was sleep. Instead, I poured myself a cup of coffee and relied on the caffeine to give me the energy boost I desparatley needed. Thankfully, I felt more awake during church and felt encouraged by the sermon!

Northern Illinois got hit by a nice ice storm Sunday evening, so instead of going to a graduation we had planned to attend, we stayed home and played in the snow with Niah. It was so fun to watch his little expressions and seeing the delight of all the newness of life excite him. As is usual, we didn’t stay out too long, but even just a few minutes of fresh air does wonders for the soul!

And then, Landon and I ended our Sunday evening with an episode of Psych, a cheese board, and popcorn. YES!

And that’s a wrap! I hope you all had a great weekend (and Monday!) I will catch you tomorrow.
